Paris’s Left Bank: Shakespeare and Co., Paris

Upon my visit to Notre Dame located on the Île de la Cité . Inside, exceptional features including three spectacular rose windows, spiraling staircases, frightening gargoyles, and infamous flying buttresses behind the cathedral.

But there is also another highlight that I found on Paris’s Left Bank: the world’s most famous bookstores in the world, Shakespeare and Company.

You may have remembered seeing this bookstore in  Woody Allen’s recent movie Midnight in Paris. I can imagine famous authors such as James Joyce spending his his time here while writing Ulysses and Ernest Hemingway with his memoirs: A Moveable Feast.  Its no wonder why many people this book store loved and frequented by many.

Its  a really  interesting and cozy environment with books that are stacked up from the floor right up the ceiling. I ended up  spending the rest of the afternoon in the bookstore, browsing, reading and people watching…

So, next time your in Paris be sure to visit this quaint little bookstore located on the Left Bank.
